All achieved in the space of a few hours. Sometimes if a job needs doing you have to get on and do it yourself or at least find someone able to do it….
Just had 1950’s pj’s altered. Bought them last year but needed new waistband. They make me feel like Doris Day “oh the Deadwood stage is a coming on over the hills ..(love that film) de..dee dee…porcupine quills..la la la…no time to delay…whip crack away…whip crack away
I have an amazing super power….. INVISIBILITY
I’m a bit like Mrs.Pepperpot who used to shrink at inopportune moments.
My super power also occurs at the wrong moment too….
Usually these moments occur when I’m struggling up the drive laden down with shopping or the kids stuff from the school run and no-one bothers to open the front door for me…..hmmmmmm
I am now 2/3rds of the way through my goal of running 3k a day during September. Today I also managed my best time ever at 19.54. I’m really quite proud of that. Only 10 more days to go….hope I can achieve it despite the weather forecast being warm on Tuesday lol……
I love this time of year and I particularly love conkers. I love their prickly shells and the beauty of the shiny brown conker within. My 10yo loves to collect them. He keeps them in his school bag where they tend to fester for the next 12 months lol.
It reminded me of the time that I was cooking with Lydia and how I nearly poisoned the family.
I used to use a whizzy gadget to chop up onions. Lydia loves to help in the kitchen. At the age of 3 she would stand on her stool by my side. It was conker season and she had found a baby conker! I was making spaghetti and chopping up onions in super whizzy gadget. I turned to get something, then did some more whizzing. Unfortunately things looked a bit green with brown bits! Light gradually dawned…..
Me: Lydia what have you done with baby Conker?
Lydia: I put him in the whizzy thing Mummy…….
I hate the school run. It’s not the going to school it’s the coming back….with all the clutter. We have book bags, rucksack, lunch boxes, coats and jumpers. And who ends up carrying them….ME. I tend to use my little run around for the school run which is only 3 doors. I then have to heave myself as elegantly as possible into the back of the car to sort out seatbelts. My neighbour gets a real treat night and morning lol…..
I think I must live in the most interesting place in the UK! On my travels this morning I stopped off to look at the notice board in the village where my kids go to school. The notice on “Places of Interest” caught my eye! Not only were the Post Office and the Petrol Station listed but, at number 12 was “Telephone kiosk”. It did make me laugh.. Surprised the pub only made no.7! Thank goodness the village don’t have a public toilet lol
Lovely afternoon spent blackberry picking in the warmth of the Autumn sunshine. Managed to avoid getting stung by the nettles. Have picked enough to make some lovely crumbles during the winter.
Reminds me of how we used to go blackberry picking on Epsom common 40 years ago. The smell of jam and bramble jelly cooking on the stove used to fill the house. In the garden we used to have 3 or 4 apple trees as well as pear trees. I remember Dad storing the apples in drawers in the brick shed with paper in between to stop them rotting. I never know which is my favourite season but Autumn is certainly a special time of year.
My daughter and I always have a bit of a tussle in the evening over sitting in my favourite seat. Her favourite place is the same as mine. But I’m not having it….I’m in charge….my rules….therefore my seat. Usually I have to bribe her out of it. However, tonight she’s at Beavers. I will therefore be firmly ensconced by the time she gets home hee hee hee
Have been having a real ball recently with vintage purchases on Etsy and EBay. Many a happy hour have I spent scrolling my way down endless search items. Saw a lovely tin bath…but nowhere to put it (sigh….).
….and now they’re all beginning to arrive, courtesy of Hermes or Royal Mail 2nd Class! Ding…ding….ooops….there goes the doorbell again lol ….
