Lovely Fence Post man came round this morning to look at my post (that is not a euphemism lol) to replace it. Mum had recommended him….I can quite see why 😁
Found myself unconsciously unzipping my hoodie to show off certain attributes. Shame it’s not summer….lol
Everyone is out so catching up on new guilty pleasure…..”Tattoo Fixers”. I’m working my way backwards. I’ve started on series 5 and am now on series 4. Everyone seems to have gone on holiday to Magaluf. I’ve never been. It’s obviously the tattoo capital for getting something that you later regret. Will not be going there anytime soon…..lol.
I have a Fitbit. I’ve had it for a year and I really love it. Before I went on holiday the strap broke. The lead time on ordering a proper Fitbit strap was about 2 – 3 weeks so I thought I’d order it when I got home. I placed the order on 1st September. Yesterday I cancelled it as after contacting the support team I was told another 2 -3 weeks. Ordered lovely rose gold one on Amazon which arrived in 24 hrs. Even if it lasts a few months I’ll be happy. It was a quarter of the cost of the original one and that only lasted a year.
I have a new guilty pleasure. I am a Secret fan of “Tattoo Fixers”. What a great programme. I’m loving it. I don’t have a tattoo, I don’t want a tattoo, but I sure know who to go to if I need a “cover-up” job lol……..
Hedge Man – booked
Radiator Man – booked
Fence Post Man – booked
Sink and taps – ordered
Radiator and valves – ordered
All achieved in the space of a few hours. Sometimes if a job needs doing you have to get on and do it yourself or at least find someone able to do it….
Started the month by being very busy. Having waited 2 years for husband to sort out bathroom radiator and fence panel I’ve booked someone to come and do it. Really can’t wait any longer…..
Just had 1950’s pj’s altered. Bought them last year but needed new waistband. They make me feel like Doris Day “oh the Deadwood stage is a coming on over the hills ..(love that film) de..dee dee…porcupine quills..la la la…no time to delay…whip crack away…whip crack away
My 1950’s Christmas party look is coming on a treat. This week, my latest vintage purchase arrived. It was so prettily packaged too. It makes opening it even more thrilling.
Earlier this year I bought a beautiful 1950’s red velvet dress and I’ve been on the look out for the right underwear to go under it. Managed to find gorgeous red panty girdle. Cost a fortune but it was worth it. Also purchased a beautiful white net petticoat and white fishnets all from the 50’s. I’d been on the look out for a red bullet bra and finally managed to get one. It’s the closest I’m going to get to matching the panty.
It all looks rather lovely and you can’t help but feel delightfully feminine and attractive. I’ve got the bag, I’ve got the gloves, all I need now is red cocktail hat and a hostess apron wouldn’t go amiss…..who’s bringing the Champagne….lol
Dreadfully tired today as I haven’t been sleeping well since we got back from holiday. At least Lydia is settling better back in her own bed now. I’ve only had to spend one night with her this week in her little bed although I do sneak out once she’s asleep. She said to me ” oohhh wouldn’t it be lovely cuddling you all night mummy” whilst flinging an arm and leg over me – in effect pinning me to a 2ft 6″ mattress…… terrific!!
Anyway tonight is a onesie night. The Bunny Bear suit is coming out (bunny tail, bear ears – hence the name the kids have given it) and I’ll be settling down to pizza and a glass of the old vino…..hic
I’ve been going through a Mallory Towers phase thanks to Mrs. Blyton. Used to love those books especially reading about the midnight feasts by the rockpool. Although to be honest I prefer the Chalet School series. Much more fun with all that snow.
Anyway, with my love of vintage I’ve been tracking down a few bits of memorabilia. Managed to find a typewritten list of school uniform for a girls school recently. Then I found some badges from the 50’s. One of them says “Librarian” and the other “Prefect”. I always fancied working in a library – stamping all those books and handing out fines!
7yo was enthralled by the badges and picking up the Prefect one turned to me and said:
“Ooohhh Mummy can I have the one that says perfect”……
